Toys have always been a big part of my life. My brother and I have a much younger sister, and of course she would beg her older brothers to play with her. Numerous games were created and toys were played with – with only a small percentage causing any type of trauma.
My brother and I also had a major age gap between us and our cousins. In fact I was 14 and my brother 18 when our oldest cousin was born! The only way we could connect with our cousins was by playing with them, and of course we could gain favor by buying them the best new toys every holiday season.
Fast forward a handful of years, and now I have two sons of my own. We play with toys and read books all day long, and I’m amazed at my how much fun I still have. My goal is to give people an honest review of all those different toys and share our experiences – the good and the bad.
My brother’s goal is a little bit different. He doesn’t have any kids yet, so his goal is to be the cool uncle. He wants to buy toys that kids love, but annoy the parents as much as possible. My wife doesn’t really like that idea, but I’m amused by it.
So during our reviews you will see a danger scale, how likely is your child to injure themselves, a sibling, a friend, a pet, a parent, a friend’s kid, or some unfortunate person walking on the street.
You will also see a parent’s annoyance scale in addition to our general review. That is inspired by crazy Uncle Shane and his desire to provide the coolest, but most annoying toys in the minds of parents, to his nephews!
If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We would also love to hear any personal stories – good or bad- of the experiences you had with toys. Please enjoy!
