Disney Pixar Cars 3 Ultimate Florida Speedway Track Set

Disney Cars 3 Ultimate Florida Speedway

We had moved a couple of years ago and while I was looking through some tucked away boxes, I noticed my kid’s Disney Pixar Cars 3 Ultimate Florida Speedway Track Set! I had to get it out, get it set backup, and I called them back into the basement to get playing with it!

This is a review I should have wrote a few years ago since we have had this toy for so long – but apparently it got lost in everything else we had going on. What is really strange, is this is a toy that my kids really enjoyed playing with – and I was amazed I had kept it packed away for so long without them yelling at me about it!

So, here it is – our way past due Disney Pixar Cars 3 Ultimate Florida Speedway Track Review – and some honest thoughts and opinions about this toy!

Quick Disney Cars Ultimate Florida 500 Speedway Toy Review

Disney Cars Florida Speedway

We bought this Cars Ultimate Florida Speedway track for my oldest son as a Christmas present around 4 years ago or so. It was one of the most popular Christmas toys that year and it seemed like everyone had to have it.

I can see why it is so popular. It is a big track – the length from one end to the other is about 60-inches, and it is about 28 inches wide. There are plenty of curves and straightaways for your toy cars to get going on!

This track has a launcher that you push your cars into, and it launches them around the corner. The process continues until you stop your car, or it flips over on a turn. Obviously, kids are going to want to have 4 or 5 cars going at the same time and seeing who causes a crash first! You can buy a standard pack of Disney Cars Cars to have more options to drive around the track, since this set only comes with one Lighting McQueen car.

They also got all the little details that make this toy special incorporated into the track nicely. For example, there is a nice winner’s circle – and even a ramp you can get your car to take to go to the winner’s circle. There are stands for other cars to watch the action on – and even some toy sand pieces to get the track that little extra special look.

The first thing you do when putting this track together is peel and place all of the stickers in the appropriate places. This is annoying – and I suck at putting on stickers with 100% accuracy. I would say I’m more in the 75% accuracy range on my sticker placement.

After that, you need to snap all of the pieces into place. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow – it normally takes 10 to 20 minutes to put it all together (or back together when you are removing it from a box in the closet). The hardest pieces to put together are the blue lifter/outside track pieces. It might take you a time or two to snap them all into place properly.

It doesn’t take long for the track to get built – and once you add four D-batteries it will be ready to launch your cars in a big oval over and over again while your kid tries to create accidents!

I’ll warn you parents, the track is pretty loud when the launcher is on, and it does take some space – so it isn’t the easiest toy to have out all of the time depending on your play space situation.

For my kids, they spent hours launching cars, having races, causing crashes – and even trying to get Mater to win a race (his car isn’t great at going around this track). They have had a lot of fun with it!

The Annoyance Scale for Parents

We always like to warn parents how annoying a toy is going to be – and there are a few things that make the Cars Florida Speedway Track annoying.

It starts with the sticker placement – I told you how much I hate doing that already. Then you got to snap all the pieces together and keep them together – plus this toy takes up a good amount of space; and it is not a toy that can easily be picked up and moved from place to place. Meaning, you might have to rebuild the track all of the time if it all gets put away!

Plus it is loud when in operation. It will be a toy you want your kids to play with in a bedroom or designated toy room area instead of in the living room where you might be watching a show.

We should note the positives do outweigh all the annoyance that comes from this one – but stickers, assembly, batteries, takes up a lot of space, and noise – those are all factors that can get on your nerves!

And it was the fact that it takes up so much space that got this toy boxed up and put into the closet in the first place. However, the delight my kids had in seeing it come out again was fantastic.

We are going to give this toy a 5 out of 10 on the annoyance scale – at least it isn’t playing any annoying songs!

Final Grade

silver star

This Disney Pixar Cars 3 Ultimate Florida Speedway was a tough toy to grade. It sure is cool, the design is neat, the action is fast, and my kids really love playing with it. However, it did get put a way for a while, it goes through batteries pretty fast and it takes up a pretty big amount of space.

Those factors are leading me to give this toy a Silver Star Rating – but I could easily see how this toy could be a Gol Standard Toy in your household – especially if your child is a huge fan of Cars!
