The first entry to our list of the best little people toy trains is the Fisher Price Little People Large Vehicle Train. It is recommended for children ages 1-5 and comes with the train plus two figures – Conductor Kathy and Passenger Koby!
There is a big yellow button on it that will make all kinds of fun sounds. There are also lights that will light up. Pressing Conductor Kathy into her seat will also activate the lights and noises.
The train does come in two pieces that can easily be connected and disconnected. It rolls very easily on harder surfaces, but does come apart relatively easy on thicker carpets.
This is just an all-around fun toy that young children will enjoy playing with and an easy #1 on our list of best Fisher Price Little People Trains!
2.) Fisher Price Little People Animal Train
The second entry on or list of the best Little People Toy Trains is the Fisher Price Little People Animal Train! What I really love about this toy is the sharp blue color scheme that is sure to be a hit with most kids!
This is a nice push-along train that loves to sing songs, say fun phrases, and make all-sorts of different noises. You can also press the smokestack for different songs and noises. These noises also happen when you push down on conductor in his seat!
Besides the train itself and the conductor figure – you also get a little toy lion that gets to ride around in the back. It does require 2AA batteries that should be included.
This train also does not disconnect, which makes it even more popular with smaller children. Your younger child should have a lot of fun with this option!
3.) Fisher Price Little People Musical Zoo Train
The next toy train to be reviewed would be the Fisher Price Little People Musical Zoo Train. If you can’t tell by the name, this toy is all about being fun, singing songs, and pulling around toy animals!
The train comes with the engine and two carts that connect to it. These carts can easily disconnect from the main engine and be played with separately; or they can stay connected and be pulled all over the place.
This toy makes all kinds of zoo sounds and sings songs; a pretty common theme with Little People toys! It also comes with a giraffe, tiger, and conductor.
It is fun, colorful, and will make a very nice addition to a young child’s toy collection!
4.) Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo Train
Another of the fun train option from Little People would be the Fisher-Price Little People Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo Train. This fun train set has an engine that pulls a big ferris wheel!
The ferris wheel cart actually spins letting your animals go for a ride! There is also a storage cart spot to hold an extra animal on the train ride. Of course, it will make all sorts of cool sounds and noises which will be sure to delight your child!
This option can be the most expensive option out there depending on the site you are looking at – which is the only major drawback to it.
Besides the engine and the ferris wheel, this toy set comes with two animals and a conductor that sits in the front of the train. Overall, just a fun option that will delight a lot of children!
5.) Fisher Price Little People Choo-Choo Zoo Train

The train itself is one unit with a big storage space on the trailer that can carry plenty of animals. It makes all sorts of fun noises and train sounds (you can activate the sounds by pressing the smokestack or by pushing down on the platform in the back of the trailer).
It comes with a conductor, a food crate, a polar bear, and a gorilla. The animals it comes with are really cool.
This toy has been a big hit in our household for a number of years and I don’t know why it wouldn’t be in yours!
6.) Fisher Price Little People Friendly Passengers Train
The Fisher Price Little People Friendly Passengers Train is another fun option that kid should really enjoy playing with. It has a really cool green and yellow color scheme that makes it look really sharp.
It it includes one conductor figure and one passenger figure. The train has an engine car and a passenger car that can be separated. It will sing lots of songs and makes lots of noises which we will love as parents!
There is a big button on the smokestack that will activate all those noises, but will also “pop up” the window displays.
But for me the biggest selling point for this train is going to be how it looks – and if your child really loves those bright green and yellow colors they are going to love this!
7.) Fisher Price Little People Musical Christmas Train
The final Fisher-Price Little People Train option that we are going to review is the Fisher-Price Little People Musical Christmas Train. Honestly, this option could be higher on the list, but the Christmas theme doesn’t always lend itself to playtime all-year around!
The train is 3 cars that obviously have a Christmas theme to them! It plays that fun holiday themed music when buttons are pushed and it is played with. It does require three AA batteries to operate.
The characters this train set comes with includes a Santa (I mean you couldn’t have a Christmas themed train set without this one), a reindeer, and an elf. Exactly what you need to have some fun around Christmas time!
This Christmas theme is going to be super fun and popular with some children and not so much with others – but overall this is a great train set from Little People that you could play with!
